Review of Patton (1970) by Mike H — 07 Sep 2010
George C. Scott's powerhouse performance is the main reason to watch this movie. He perfectly incarnates this man and from the moment he is on screen, we could easily believe we're watching the real George Patton.
Examining the stupidity of the higher-ups and the inanity of some of society's conventions frustrates us as much as it does this complex man. My problem with the movie is that some of the scenes feel disjointed or disorganized in their execution.
I feel some better editing could have made the film flow a lot better. The length isn't the problem, it's the film's construction.
