A gripping and compelling movie that allows war to be shown as both brutal AND glorious. It was a splendid psychological study of the title character, even though the producers of the film shouldn't have "cleaned up" Patton's actual "accidental" death/assassination at the end of the film.

George C. Scott received the "Best Actor" Academy Award for his potrayal of the great General, although he declined to accept the award. The soundtrack was exceptional, and all of the principle players in the film's "cast of thousands" performed with distinction.

Patton has generally received very positive reviews.
