Scott's interpretation of Patton seems so antiquated by today's standards, but he's still magnetic and utterly watchable if you can separate the actor from his character's hubris. What's more, the screenplay is unbelievably sharp-witted and well-paced for an epic of this caliber.
The movie may not have compelled me to revere the man, but I found it surprisingly entertaining 43 years later. Definitely a must-see in the already saturated annals of WWII cinema.
