Playing at a few selected theaters, "Patti Cake$" is a charming mixture of "8 Mile" and "Hustle and Flow" with a possible star making performance from Danielle MacDonald whom you cannot take your eyes from.
This is a straight of Jersey story about a lady that feels that she has the skillz to make it out of a hard life. "Patti Cake$" is predictable in certain areas and there is a romance that doesn`t quite work for me.
But this is one of the few pictures that you let all that slide. Thumbs up.
