Review of Patriots Day (2016) by Charlie D — 27 Jan 2017
From the opening shots when she (not he) grabs a bottle from the fridge on returning home from work, to the closing message 'all we've got is love', you know there's something hokey going on.
Sugar coating a grim act of terrorism by lacing in fictional romantic events and loading it with magazine of glib liberal platitudes does neither the event nor those involved much justice. In fact it just reduces what was a visceral and venomous attack to just another entertaining police procedural but this time with bombs.
