Review of Patiala House (2011) by Varun G — 19 Feb 2011
A really decent movie attempt at dramatizing the complexities of the father-son relationship with cricket as the background. It reminded me of Iqbal and Lagaan in terms of dramatic scope. Akshay overdoes the beaten down son bit, but the rest of the casting is good, the story is a bit over the top but enjoyable nonetheless.
The movie belongs to Rishi Kapoor who portrays the Sikh with a chip on his shoulder to perfection. The songs are good and I would recommend for a one-time watch.
