Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Christine A — 08 May 2009
I'm not a huge fan of period films or war films, but Stanley Kubrick's Paths of Glory is one of the most entertaining and well made of the sort. While my attention drifted during the war combat scenes (which, fortunately, were mostly in the first act of the film), I felt that the film truly came into its own in its dramatic, poignant and dialogue-driven scenes, which takes up the majority of the film -- something that you don't usually see in war films.
