Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Mikhail B — 18 Dec 2011
After an expected failure to raise his man to a doomed attack on enemy's trenches, Colonel Dax (Kirk Douglas) refuses to have his men shot without trial and sees that their case is brought to a series of court-martials where he successfully defends some of his people proving that their only guilt was reluctance to fall innocent victims to the stupidity of their superiors and general absurdity of war.
Essentially, this movie is about how fullish, violent and senseless war is.
