Kirk Douglas is fantastic, as per usual. I must have seen the damaged version and not the fully restored version, or the fully restored version is 'fully restored'. Still, yet, the great acting and the obvious early signs that Kubrick could direct a big movie was evident in the battle scenes.
Worth checking if you like some Kubrick. He's one of my favorite directors and I had not yet seen this film. Glad I did.
