Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Samuel B — 30 Jan 2013
This movie is one to watch, although it is not for the light-hearted. Kubrick does a brilliant job showing us another side of war not often talked about or shown in movies, and by that I mean the internal politics that ravages the very structure of the military itself.
Like all human organizations, the big egos clash and sacrifice the lower-ranked members (soldiers) in search of their own personal glory. I won't say any more than that Kirk Douglas and George Macready both do an excellent job in their roles.
