Kirk Douglas is excellent as a colonel trying to defend three of his men from a farcical court martial due to cowardice imposed by a self-serving general (Mcready, effectively hateful) trying to protect his vanity and reputation.
Incesing indictment on power abuse and war itself, also features some harrowing battle scenes.
