Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Ken S — 08 May 2012
Stanley Kubrick's anti-war film is actually one of his best films. Kubrick is often regarded more for his later work, but I think this should be noted more often. It has a strong script, Kubrick's standard quality technical and cinematographic skill, as well as having a quality cast and a strong anti-war message.
I felt this was a better anti-war film than "Full Metal Jacket". Definitely worth a look for anyone interested in classic cinema, Kubrick, courtroom dramas, or war films in general.
