Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Mervyn M — 05 Apr 2012
Frustrating and heartbreaking. Kubrick is often the subject of criticism for the coldness of his films, but no-one could deny the power of Paths of Glory. The best film on the subject of corruption within the military and the establishment.
Fierce performances, bleak and realistic cinematography that lends to the utter hopelessness of the picture. Paths of Glory is one of my favourites, a must watch.
