Review of Pathfinder (2007) by Mark P — 09 Jun 2010
A very gratuitous violent depicton of early exploration of the americas with a tarzan feel, but this time the foes are the vicious nothern hords laying waste to all befor them in the name of supierority. Set in an untamed land of nomadic native nth american indians going abt their lives a many of thier generations befor them did, until ...now.
I thought the cinimatography was a little in the face and some quite childish screenplay attemps to keep this a high intensity film. A plot that is ...lets say, not ..unique, although ..the fighting was a real enough recreation of "'great sword'-play" and battle ugly truths, also instead of unlimited bullets as most action movies there was somthing a bit different around each next corner gving a much needed lift.
A dark picture without a skerrick of sunlight or light for tht matter giving excellent effect to the costuming and maiming hehe. A few good morals adding to a content rating from mine.
I just love these films off setting my preferred fantasy genre with realistic intent. A watchable masacre.
