Review of Pathfinder (2007) by Lenny R — 20 Mar 2010
Sure, we've seen it all before, but perhaps not presented quite as nicely as this (be aware, this is NOT The New World, it's a totally different kettle of kippers). But it's still a good, dumb, fun way to kill a couple of hours.
Ralf Moeller! Clancy Brown! They alone earn this movie my respect; Urban and Bloodgood are gravy. Well may it be less original than the original (which I haven't seen, but plan to). Well may it be a load of twaddle.
But who cares? It's gory guerilla warfare at its...well, maybe not its best, but definitely its most high-contrast. Forget originality, forget cultural or historical accuracy, and just bask in the glorious blood-spatter! I wish I had a shield to bang my axe against right now.
