Review of Paterson (2016) by Karl F — 25 Jun 2017
At first I didn't know what to make of this film but the performances are top notch and the film grows on you. The slow burning film has a lot of love and the poetry that our lead character reads gives the film depth that would otherwise feel like an odd choice to have in the film.
The character of Paterson is brilliantly played and it's the filmmakers talent that holds our interest for the entire film. This is yet another film that showcases the talents of indie cinema, a director who doesn't change artistic integrity for a larger budget.
The doesn't need a large buget to give you a deeper more complex tale, when the dog robs Paterson of something important to him, you feel for him. I can't speak anymore highly of one the best films of 2016, just incredible and the dog is easily one of the best supports.
This is a must see film for any person who enjoys well crafted character films. 26-06-2017.
