Review of Patch Adams (1998) by Jesus C — 30 Dec 2013
"Fact-based"...seriously? This too-whimsical, far too liberty-taking "fact-based" story is many forms of bad. And let me say this: I HATE TOUCHING AND SENTIMENTAL. Especially if it's so obviously touching and sentimental and makes me want to go to the nearest hospital and begin waving a USSR flag like a fanatic.
Robin Williams isn't a bad actor but he keeps choosing awful films to be in, and this is probably the most notorious of them. The only redeemer of the film is that it's a bit forgetful and easy to shrug off if you give it time.
