Review of Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973) by Tim L — 09 Dec 2007
Quite simply this is one of the deepest films ever made and not just one of the most important westerns. It marks the high point in Sam Peckinpah's exceptional filmmaking career. Even the slightly weaker special edition version (the 1988 turner version being the closest to Peckinpah's desired vision) is fantastic.
Good news though, you can now see both in the special edition box set - a must for any film fanatic.
