Review of Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973) by Paul P — 31 Oct 2007
The pacing is uneven, but the performances are great, and overall, a great tale of friends turned against each other. Sure, the whole "close friends drawn to opposite sides of the law" story isn't revolutionary, but it's done very well, and you really feel for both of them as they move closer to the inevitable, and the end of one of the most legendary figures of the old west.
Bob Dylan puts in a memorable performance here, and Slim Pickens is great for the few minutes he is in the film, I just wish the blood effects weren't so awful.
