Review of Passion Play (2011) by Marc B — 24 Jun 2011
You would think a movie starring Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox, and Bill Murray would not be a straight to dvd release. Well after sitting through this turd I understand why this didn't go to theatres. Mickey Rourke is a trumpet player who is in trouble with mobster Happy Shannon (Bill Murray).
In the desert he escapes a hit on him and end up at a carnival where he meets Megan Fox who has a set of wings and is kept locked up so people can see her. Rourke breaks Fox out of the carnival and decides to give her to the mobster to square his debt.
Of course Rourke ends up falling for the girl and then things get complicated. Rourke is barely awake in this. you might need to turn on the subtitles to understand what he is saying half the time. It was also laughable how Rourke couldn't be bothered to learn how to look like he was playing a trumpet.
he seems to just hold it to his mouth and nothing more. Megan Fox's career has really gone downhill. anything she has done out side of Transformers has been a total disaster. To make matters worse she compared Transformers director Michael Bay to Hitler and was ordered fired from the series by producer Steven Spielberg.
not a good career movie to tick off Spielberg. The only good thing about this movie was Bill Murray. The ending to this is so bad and it pretty much invalidates the rest of the movie. stay far away from Passion Play.
