DePalma finally returns to his old self, and leaves nothing on the table(and not much more on the editing floor). Sure, it's a remake, but Depalma's style and spins on "Love Crime" are refreshing.

Not often do we call these remake's of foreign films superior than the original, but this is, no doubt. The cinematography is a knockout and so is Rachel McAdams performance. Depalma nods to the audience for 2 hours showing us everything he's learned over the last 40-45 years, and we're much better for it.

Trashy, alluring, at times ridiculous(all trademarks of De Palma), but why does it seem like the characters say exactly what we want them to say, do exactly what we want them to do? Great film. Best out of the 55-60 I've seen so far this year(only the 2nd film this year I've given 8/10 - also "The East".

Maybe I wouldn't have loved it so much if it wasn't EXACTLY what I expected from this director, and if it didn't look so dam^ amazing.
