Review of Passion (2013) by Dann M — 10 Feb 2014
Brian De Palma's Passion is a dull and mundane thriller. And while it features two strong female leads, Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace, their performances are underwhelming. The story follows a rivalry between an ad executive and her assistant that turns deadly when the assistant costs her boss a promotion.
The characters are rather uninteresting, and the plot is pretty formulaic. Additionally, De Palma's directing is poor and fails to build any intrigue or suspense. Ineffective and uninspired, Passion is an especially disappointing film.
