Review of Passengers (2016) by Carol G — 29 Apr 2017
I really enjoyed this movie - I thought the concept, the acting and the sets and visuals were great. I was somewhat uncomfortable about the imbalance of power in the male-female leads relationship (he making decisions for her and their unequal roles in saving the ship).
Also, Lawrence Fishburne's character waking up and being around just long enough to perform certain functions necessary to the plotline was much too convenient a plot device. But I really liked the futuristic vision of a cruise-line in space, the Homesteading concept, and Chris Pratt's reasons for wanting to homestead.
Very satisfying entertainment.
