The acting in this movie is really great--it convincingly brings the characters from the novel to life--but it diverges wildly from the novel in ways that make the viewer/reader unsure whether the problem is that the people depicted have done too many drugs or they have done too many drugs.
The aesthetic is great--it's really bright and fun.
