Review of Parkland (2013) by Matthew P — 24 Oct 2013
From the odd wobbly camera work in the opening shots, something feels off with Parkland. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what doesn't work here, but what should be an interesting new angle on one the most infamous days in American politics is just really bland and tedious.
The cast put in perfectly reasonable performances, but the lack of detail, perspective (be this biased in any direction) or any meat to the narrative, makes it feel like very slow and poorly edited news coverage.
Why anyone thought there was a need to make this is beyond me, maybe they tried to play it too straight, anyway just watch JFK.
