Review of Parkland (2013) by James C — 16 Nov 2013
All movies have proposes. Some are made to entertain, to provoke thought or to create or touch emotions. This film will never be considered a classic, but it does touch and create emotional sensations.
One critic claimed the movie didn't have a point. I have to disagree. It is a historical recollection that my generation vividly remembers. It was probably the first event in history that a collected nation of people stopped in their tracks.
Most everyone became acutely aware of the tragedies that unfolded before them. The movies draw and contrast the emotional of all the parties that were involved. The faces on the doctors and nurses, secret service, those who witnessed the events reminded me of those moments.
The point of the movies was to simply tell the story of the many people who has found the strength to deal with this nightmare. It job was to remind us of that moment and reflect its tragedy that became point of what we are.
