Review of Paris, Texas (1984) by Phil S — 20 Dec 2007
As stunningly beautiful and heartfelt as it must have been in 1984. Harry Dean Stantons flawless performance as the definitive broken man, Travis, is the string that binds this story of lost love, regained responsibility and selflessness.
We follow him as he staggers from the Mojave Desert and attempts to put his shattered life together again by reuniting with his son and finding the love of his life. All of this culminates in one of the most heratbreaking monologues in cinema history.
To view it is to love it...unless you're an idiot.
