Review of Paris, Texas (1984) by Jason O — 01 Jan 2008
Wim Wender's stunning yet simplistic tale of an estranged father coming to terms with his identity, and trying to reclaim the family he once had is nothing short of amazing. A deeply moving tale of family values and nostalgia, it is perfected by incredible pace, direction, and incredible photography, combined with a superb score by guitarist Ry Cooder.
This is moviemaking at its finest that deserves to be cherished.
