Review of Paris, Texas (1984) by Matt B — 26 Jan 2010
I had heard so much about this film and thankfully Criterion released it. Wings of Desire was my introduction to Wim Wenders, and that was instantly one of my favorites. This one is no different. It is a gorgeous film and really showcases some of America's most beautiful landscapes.
The story unfolds slowly, but the actors are at the top of the game and make the journey worth it. The last 30 minutes or so of this movie are emotionally draining, and though it may not have a typical Hollywood ending, it is an appropriate ending none the less.
This is one I will be revisiting very soon, and probably over and over again.
