Just about everyone seems to love this movie. Maybe it's an American type thing that I don't quite understand? IMDB tells me this was Kurt Cobain's favourite movie. Then again, Cobain married Courtney Love...
Anyway, the acting does deserve a thumbs up, other than that it didn't do much for me.
