Review of Paris, Texas (1984) by Augustine H — 15 Dec 2013
Wim Wenders demonstrates that the issue of alienation, emptiness and trauma is universal in nature regardless of borders. The setting and film score makes us forget that Wenders is from Germany. The heartbreaking telephone dialogue is one of the greatest in cinema history, thanks not only to Wenders and writer Sam Shepard, but also Harry Dean Stanton and Nastassja Kinski.
