Review of Paris Je T'aime (2006) by Ilaria R — 24 Mar 2010
This is comprised of 18 shorts by 20 different directors. Some I cared for, some I didn't. The first short, Montmartre, is the best one. The performances are exceptional- and I hope director Bruno Podalydès makes it into a feature length film. For me, "Montmartre" was over WAY too soon.
As for the other shorts, the second one was my least favorite, the whole movie was just one big cliche, and the Gus Van Sant short was pointless. The Coen brothers short was hilarious and one of the best ones, and I also liked the one by Isabel Coixet. The last one by Alexander Payne was also a good one. Overall, the combination of these visions taking place on one fascinating city is truly enthralling. Not to be missed.
