First-time feature filmmaker Dee Rees makes a gripping urban movie about coming to terms with who you are. I found this movie refreshing to watch. It was nice to have a little representation on screen that wasn't focused around sex or drugs.
Several stories in one so often not heard of or seen. There is a world outside of your own.
