Review of Pariah (2011) by Carmen B — 21 Jan 2012
Saw Pariah last night. I really enjoyed it. I know a lot of ppl are saying 'it's the same gay/lesbian movie', but I think it was well made, the direction was good. And the lgbt community is still being discriminated against and the black community definitely has a long way to go on our acceptance of queer people.
If this movie can open one persons eyes, than its a success. Also there aren't a lot of film makers begging to make a film about black people that doesn't have Tyler Perry's name on it. So let's support good films, especially with an all people of color casting.
I loved it. And as usual, I cried.
