Review of Pariah (2011) by Jennifer G — 03 Jun 2012
This movie sits within the conundrum of black movies that are considered masterpieces by some, and just cast off as those that some just "didn't get". I get what this movie is trying to say, but the "realness" and "authenticity" that many of the critics here say that this movie is filled with, didn't ring true to me.
The acting was stale, the storytelling was immature, and the cinematography is almost always dark and muddy.
