Review of Parents (2007) by Lafe F — 02 Jul 2009
Parents is one weird movie! Part satire/comedy, part horror, Parents tells the disturbing story of an impressionable young boy who begins to suspect that his parents are murderous cannibals. It's hard to pinpoint just what it is that got under my skin about this film. The eerie, subtle music score, the acting, and the sterile set design all play a part in crafting an unsettling mood. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the film is the open ended nature of the narrative. Is young Michael just mentally disturbed or is there something more sinister at work?
Parents is certainly an original and spooky addition to any horror fans library. Check it out!
