Bette, the Divine, Marisa Tomei, Billy Crystal and three of the cutest kids you could ever assemble and you want me to believe that 84 critics can't come up with anything more respectable than 3.8/10? What is wrong with this movie? A fun, touching, slap in the face to "shunning" and all that is destroying family life today.
Could it have been stronger? You betcha! But a movie that ends with the recital this one does is a fine 104 minutes of entertainment. It isn't meant to be the winner of Sundance, Munich and the Naples International film festivals.
