Review of Parasomnia (2008) by Adam E — 17 Apr 2010
This is a film that so easily straddles the line between utter crap and really really hokey yet amazing entertainment that i'm still not sure which way it is going! Young girl who suffers from a condition where she sleeps most of the time is put next door to a pyscho whos so good with his mental skills he can hypnotise anyone (yep he's a grade a professor x this kid).
He gets to control here when nerd loner kid danny takes her out of the hospital to look after her when he first sees her (for no reason aside from he loves her, he has all his life!). Jeffrey combs is in it as a cop but hes just ok, if you aint a fan of his then his apperance will mean nothing.
The film is so cheesey with plot holes and campness up to the max and the most irrating nerdling lead to ever hit the small screen, god he's awfull! Mr Volt the hypnotist is great, campy fun with his starring eyes like the killer in blood feast! He can even do it over the phone! The girl has to look all dough eyed and innocent but the scene when she first discovers grass and icecream had me wetting myself! The dream scenes are real fun and quite cool and they dominate the first half but vanish after a while.
For fans of cheese movies only. I still loved it thou but probably for all the wrong reasons!
