Review of ParaNorman (2012) by Bruno M — 03 Mar 2013
Like "Coraline," the producers and director have taken stop-motion animation to a higher level. And like "Coraline," "Paranorman" deals with outcasts...misfits. Norman is bullied by his classmates as well as the entire town for his paranormal abilities. He can see and talk to dead people. Fear is what drives hatred or mistrust. Norman's "gift" ends up saving the town, and sends an important message.
Good to hear Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, and Elaine Stritch. The comedy is droll, and the character design/caricatures are rather fun.
