Review of ParaNorman (2012) by Carrie T — 22 Apr 2013
Paranorman is a beautifully animated film. It's scary, it's funny, and it actually portrays how the 21st century would approach to ghosts and zombies. The jokes are hilarious, and they actually have some depth in the characters, and the story is actually pretty original. The movies keeps on giving us surprises throughout the movie, from the beginning where we realize that the grandma isn't actually there, to knowing that the hot guy of this movie is actually gay and has a boyfriend. It's a fun movie for everyone, from older kids to adults.
The only complain I have for this movie is that it focuses too much on the message, I mean it sorta fits the plot, but later on it feels like this movie is just non-stop sending the message of anti-bullying. Sure it's a great message and I'm sure that kids would learn it after the movie, but it feels like the movie is just throwing the message at you. Other than that this movie is a must-see.
