Review of ParaNorman (2012) by Les E — 13 Dec 2013

I loved this film. Brilliantly knowing and respectful of the horror genre, classic films and tropes, it's family-friendly in all the right ways. Starring a series of characters on the margins of their High School society, they become real heroes and heroines we genuinely care about. The voice acting is impeccable and the detail within set production, cinematography and animation is all fantastic.

Combining wonderful stop-motion and 3D techniques, this is a joy from start to finish - and the DVD extras are really worth watching too. Wonderful.
