Review of Paranormal Entity (2009) by Joe A — 01 Jan 2011
Blatant rip off of Paranormal Activity has a family losing it's father and when the mother attempts to contact him, she accidentally brings a malevolent entity into the house so, the son decides to document the haunting.
Entity does have a few creepy moments of it's own, such as the evil force breaking the urn with dad's remains then tracking footprints through his ashes on the ceiling. And the attacks are more sexual as the entity focuses on the pretty sister, Samantha.
But these brief flutters of originality are drowned in all the obvious copying of scenes from Paranormal Activity. Which begs the question of why the makers couldn't focus more on their original ideas and less xeroxing of the hit film.
