Review of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) by Ibrahim A — 10 Jan 2014
Ok I'm very cautious when it comes to reviews of found footage films these days, especially when it comes to paranormal activity, reason is the critics hate anything like it! However there are two types of people , those who are massive fans and those who are not, a bit like marmite.
While it takes some getting used to a slightly different format from the norm, by this I mean this is the first paranormal activity not to adopt the night sequences, there are far more thrills than what you get in paranormal activity 4.
Yes ok, the plot is a bit predictable and does have a rather slightly odd ritualistic feel to it, especially with the return of Ali from the second one explaining the hidden meaning of 18! (Yes seriously watch it and you'll see how extreme we are getting).
.. However unlike 2,3 and 4 this one will have you jumping on your seats, (when I say that I've never seen A Level students scream, that's a priceless experience one will keep note of!) and especially with the last 15 mins where you will have the biggest spin of the series (trust me it's ingenious).
This is a good movie with a story line well complimented with the cast moving it along nicely. All in all a thrilling experience.
