Review of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) by Jeremy K — 15 Jan 2014
I think they've officially run out of ideas, and are just making stuff up as they go. The first hour is very boring, and left me constantly asking, "Why are you filming this?" The last 20 minutes are actually quite entertaining only because of how hilariously stupid it is.
The acting is quite good, but the story has gotten so convoluted and ridiculous that it's nearly impossible to take seriously. There's also the fact that it's just not scary; there's one cliche jump scare after another, all predictable, and I didn't care.
Maybe one moment was even a little creepy, but I more or less gave a curt nod at it than felt spooked. Also, there's time travel...I'm totally serious. Make of that what you will and decide if you wanna see this thing.
