Review of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) by Sinisteris T — 01 Mar 2014
I watched this in a self curated 'double-bill' with Devil's Due. This was marginally the superior of the two, if only due to the few scenes which contained elements of comedy, albeit fleeting ones.
The characters were quite likeable and the film did seem like it might go the way of Chronicle (perhaps the most inventive use of the 'found footage' style since Blair Witch). Unfortunately in the end it falls into trap of resorting to the cheap thrills that have made the Paranormal Activiity franchise become so tedious.
Although this is officially a 'spin off' they still couldn't resist as token tie-in to the original film.
