Review of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015) by Greg B — 23 Oct 2015
"Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" is the latest installment in the "Paranormal Activity" franchise. In this installment, a new, unsuspecting family moves into the same house where Katie Featherston lived.
The same demonic presence, Toby, still haunts the house, and the new family falls prey to him. In this installment, Toby wants to kidnap the family's young daughter so he can use her blood to take a human form.
I must preface my comments by saying that it's time for this franchise to die. The first movie was outstanding, but the sequels just don't cut it. At this point, the director is just putting the name to a movie and hoping the sheep flock to the theater.
I thought this film was marginally better than the last "Paranormal Activity." Toby is more menacing in this film, and I was actually startled, bordering on frightened, at some of the scenes.
As a standalone film, this is definitely average, but, please, no more of these films. It seems they are being churned out annually ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C+.
