Review of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015) by James R — 24 Oct 2015

Let's face it the series was getting a little dry and for them to end it here...it could be worse I guess. The first movie was the best in my opinion. Hell let's face it out of the six films the first and third were the only good ones.

The Ghost Dimension is the sixth and final installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise. You might not even know it's out though because it's been banned in certain theater chains because it's coming to VOD 17 days from the release date and that apparently put people in a panic.

The first Paranormal to have 3D scenes too (which actually don't look half bad). This time around sticking to tried and true story someone has moved into a house and their young kid is starting to talk to an "imaginary friend" and the little f**ckers name is Toby.

Sound familiar? Taking place in 2013 we follow a family through Ryan (Chris J Murray) a father who finds a mysterious camera in a box inside the house that shows him a glimpse of the spirit or demon that his daughter Leila (Ivy George) is talking to.

Ryan's wife Emily (Brit Shaw) doesn't believe him at first until she begins to witness what's going on. Also Ryan's brother Mike (Dan Gill) is staying with them and is kind of the comedic relief and then there's Emily's best friend Skyler (Olivia Taylor Dudley) who I'm not sure why is even in the film.

Seriously, she's kinda randomly there to begin with at the house I think she's there just to keep up the tradition of having someone with gigantic breasts in the film..I dunno worked for me though.

Overall, the film follows the same patterns as the last films have for the last 6 years. We see night time footage, we see crazy shit happen and then everyone dies (whoops spoiler, but cmon did you not see that coming).

It sort of wraps up everything to a point and explains some of the random things that happened at the end of the other films, but I still had a lot of questions. It was a fun jump scared filled movie regardless (I can say that about most of the franchise for the most part).

If you're a fan of the other films give it a look or wait for the VOD in about 2 weeks. Everyone else it's a big skip!
