Review of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015) by Brandon W — 17 Jan 2016
After 5 movies of Paranormal Activity, we finally got to the last, hopefully, movie of the series, with the editor from Paranormal Activity 2 to The Marked Ones as the director for The Ghost Dimension, which sadly, became the worst one out of all of them.
The movie starts out with a family that found a old camera, and it picks out the activity. Then people start seeing a ghost and starts to put in some cameras in their daughter's room because that's when the daughter is talking to the ghost.
So yeah, same plot as, well, almost all of the Paranormal Activity movies, and the scares, are all jumpscares that will always get a jolt out of me because it's a loud noise that I hear. The characters are very generic and are just as the same, but even more stupid, as the other characters in the previous films.
The only good things that I can find from this, are the cool effects when the camera shows the activity, I thought that the effect on Toby was fine, even though that can also be a disadvantage because it wouldn't be as scary as what we can't see from the other films, the acting is fine, and the film tries to be a little different while also giving some answers, which sadly isn't all of them that the fans needed.
The movie is also very dull, and it I don't quite understand at times about why is this being filmed. In the end, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is the most disappointing film of the series, which is sad seeing that it came so far from the first, second, and third, and then it goes downhill until there's barely nothing left, and that is this movie.
