Review of Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (2021) by Vinnymac — 31 Oct 2021
Easily my favorite movie in the franchise. The motel scenes, rituals, and camerawork reminded me of many classic horror films. I felt similar scares as ones from more modern horror such as Hereditary. Well worth watching if you are a fan of paranormal activity, and looking to learn more about the next chapter in the franchise.
This film builds on the past work in a beautiful way, with some amazing shots, and has a great pace. I especially enjoyed that only 30 some minutes into the film they are already scaring the audience in her mothers bedroom, in many of the same ways we would be afraid in past paranormal films.
Looking forward to getting more movies in this style, as they have laid the groundwork for many more interesting stories to take place.
