Review of Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) by Ro S — 05 Feb 2013

After watching each of the previous instalments to the Paranormal Activity series, I couldn't sleep well for days. After Paranormal Activity 4 I can safely say the same thing. But not because it scared me, but because I was too irritated and dissapointed that I had wasted my money and my valuable time watching what basically amounted to an hour-and-a-half skype session.

Paranormal Activity 4 never even comes close to any scares, and only drags on each comical tease until the bitter end. Even in in the films final minute (literally) of any attempt to be scary, you are completely checked out, and can only sit in confusion and anger as the credits roll by with no sound. As if it's mocking you for sitting through the whole thing.

This is the sad and inevitable demise of a promise that horror movies could still scare. A formula, that supposedly could only work a few times.
